Your Path to Healing

At New Day Recovery, we understand that the journey to recovery from substance use disorders and mental health challenges is unique for each individual. That’s why we’re proud to offer access to Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP) through our trusted network of partner organizations. PHP serves as a structured and intensive outpatient treatment option for those who require a higher level of care while still maintaining the comfort of returning home each night.

What is PHP?

PHP is designed to provide comprehensive care for individuals dealing with substance use disorders and mental health concerns. It offers a blend of individual and group counseling, medication management, and regular interactions with medical and behavioral health professionals. With PHP, individuals receive personalized treatment without the need for costly overnight hospital stays, fostering an easier transition into everyday life and independence.

Advantages of PHP:

  • Regular interactions with medical, mental health, and behavioral health professionals.
  • Personalized behavioral health care tailored to individual needs.
  • Affordable treatment option without expensive overnight hospital stays.
  • Smooth transition into everyday life and independence.

How Long is PHP?

Typically, PHP programs involve a commitment of 3-4 weeks, with participants attending sessions 3-5 days a week for about 6 hours each day. This level of treatment, requiring at least 20 hours a week, ensures individuals receive the necessary support and care. Upon completion, individuals may transition to a standard outpatient program meeting 1-2 times per week.

Is PHP Right for Me/My Loved One?

PHP is best suited for individuals who require close medical supervision but do not need it 24 hours a day. It’s ideal for those needing more support than traditional outpatient programs offer, provided they have stable housing, transportation, and a strong support system at home. PHP allows individuals to continue with work or school while receiving intensive care.

A Typical Day in PHP

A day in PHP involves structured treatment sessions, including therapy, educational workshops, recreational activities, and medication management. This holistic approach addresses both the physical and psychological aspects of recovery.

Medications Used in PHP

Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) may be utilized to alleviate detox symptoms from opioids or benzodiazepines. Common medications include Buprenorphine, Naltrexone, Suboxone, Disulfiram (Antabuse), and antidepressants, which can help decrease cravings and withdrawal symptoms.

Housing & PHP

Some PHP programs offer housing alongside their services, providing a supportive recovery community environment. This option is particularly beneficial for individuals without stable housing or transportation, reducing barriers to completing treatment programs.
